Dr. Norell currently serves as the Piano Program Director for the Goshen College Community School of the Arts. He recently gave masterclasses at Ohio University, the Ohio Music Teachers Association Summit County Duet Festival and the Kelowna Kiwanis Music Festival in British Columbia. He has adjudicated several competitions, including the Sejong Music Competition, the Greater Evansville Music Teachers Association Key Competition, and the University of Northwestern Piano Festival. He served as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University for five years, teaching both private lessons and group piano classes.

Norell's students have received first prizes in the Muncie Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, the Indiana MTNA Competition, the IMTA Hoosier Auditions, and the Society of American Musicians Competition. He draws from a variety of pedagogical training in his own teaching. In addition to working with André Watts, he also completed doctoral minor field study in music theory and early music (harpsichord and fortepiano) at IU. Luke is currently a member of the Music Teachers National Association and the Indiana Music Teachers Association.
