In addition to appearing with his wife Mary Rose as the Norell Piano Duo, Luke frequently collaborates in a variety of chamber music. As vice president and founding board member of the newly formed Edvard Grieg Society of the Great Lakes, he took part in hosting its inaugural “SalzBergen” conference at Goshen College, performing with bass-baritone Njål Sparbo and cellist Brook Bennett. He has recently worked together with baritone Scott Hochstetler, and as a piano trio with Brook and Jessica Bennett.
Luke has joined forces with the Artaria String Quartet, and has taken part in the workshop “Edvard Grieg and the Human Voice” in Bergen, Norway, as well as the Webster University Chamber Music Vienna festival, the Artur Balsam Ensemble Classes for Piano and Strings, and the Madeline Island Chamber Music Camp. Norell has worked in the vocal studios of Brian Horne, Andreas Poulimenos, and Carol Vaness, and was a faculty accompanist for the Indiana University Summer Music Clinic. He currently serves as staff accompanist at Goshen College. |
